Skoda Honors Its 1899 Motorbike with New Concept Design
Skoda’s Café Racer Concept Celebrates Its Early Bicycle and Motorbike Days — Not Heading to Showrooms
Skoda has chosen to showcase its impressive collection of classic vehicles by reinventing them as modern-day concept cars.
Considering Skoda’s historic reputation, it’s unlikely we’ll see a revived Estelle anytime soon. And how do you double the price of a Skoda? Just add a petrol engine and all the usual extras.
Nonetheless, the 1899 Slavia B two-wheeler crafted by Laurin & Klement, the predecessor of today’s Skoda Auto is definitely deserving of recognition. The new concept inspired by it is equally impressive.
Designed by French exterior designer Romain Bucaille, who typically works on Skoda’s production models, the new Slavia B concept embraces Skoda’s current ‘Modern Solid’ design language, characterized by a clean and minimalist aesthetic. And yes, it definitely shows.
The remake is reportedly electric, with the space traditionally occupied by a combustion engine now left open. It features a floating seat and a brown leather tool bag, all styled as a sleek, futuristic café racer.
Think Skoda should turn this concept into a production model? Now that would be a true tribute to one of its iconic classics.
