Honda Unique New Electric Vehicle to Steal the Show at 2028 Olympics
Honda has officially announced its partnership with the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics, pledging to support the event with its 0 Series SUV and Saloon models.

American Honda, the U.S. subsidiary of the Japanese automaker, announced today that it will be a founding partner of the 2028 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles. As part of this partnership, Honda will provide Team USA Olympians and Paralympians with convenient transportation options, including its upcoming 0 Series electric vehicles (EVs) and the Acura RSX all-electric crossover. The 0 Series Saloon and SUV are slated for release in 2026, while the Acura RSX is expected to arrive later this year, meaning the Olympics won’t mark the debut of Honda’s electrified lineup. Still, these vehicles — along with other Honda models like the highly efficient hybrid Civic — will be prominently showcased during the 2028 Games.
Honda Commits Entire Product Range to Support LA28 Olympics
Honda is fully backing the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, known as LA28, by deploying its complete lineup of American-made products. Beyond providing vehicles to transport athletes, officials, and VIPs across the city, Honda will supply its Motocompacto electric scooters for fast and efficient on-site travel. Additionally, Honda Marine’s outboard engines and boats will play a supportive role, likely assisting with rowing and aquatic competitions during the event.
Meanwhile, Honda Powersports motorcycles and scooters are expected to serve as safety vehicles for road events such as cycling and running. All-terrain vehicles (ATVs) and side-by-sides will help ensure smooth operations behind the scenes. LA28 has also announced that Honda and Acura will supply pace cars for endurance events, which means Los Angeles residents can look forward to seeing models like the Honda 0 Series or Acura RSX EV leading Olympic athletes through the city streets.
Honda Pledges $1 Million to Support Olympic Hopefuls
Beyond its extensive material contributions to the 2028 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games, American Honda has committed $1 million to assist aspiring athletes in achieving their dreams on the world stage. While specific recipients have not yet been announced, Honda states that the funds will support organizations dedicated to helping individuals realize their full potential, both in sports and in life.
This isn’t Honda’s first time financially backing elite athletes. The company supported three Paralympians during the 2024 Paris Games, including U.S. gold medalist Susannah Scaroni. Scaroni won the Women’s 5000-meter T54 race at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics and earned bronze in the T54 marathon at the 2024 Paris Paralympics. She is now aiming to compete in LA28.
When Will the Honda 0 Series Be Available to the Public?
Honda’s plans to unveil its production-ready 0 Series models next year. At CES 2025, the company showcased the sleek 0 Saloon and the bold 0 SUV, both featuring designs that are more refined and production-ready compared to last year’s prototypes. These new electric vehicles mark Honda’s first fully in-house modern EV lineup, complementing its GM Ultium–based Prologue model. The 0 Series is expected to be lighter, more space-efficient, and equipped with a battery designed to resist degradation better than many other electric vehicles on the market.
Additionally, Honda’s new dedicated EV platform will underpin the more traditionally styled RSX EV, a fastback crossover. Acura’s electric models are expected to deliver higher power and performance compared to their Honda counterparts—similar to how today’s Acura ZDX and ZDX Type S outperform the Honda Prologue. The RSX crossover will mark Acura’s first fully in-house developed electric vehicle.
