At the 2023 SEMA Show, Ford unveiled the Mustang FP800S, a concept parts package featuring a 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger, a lowering kit, and strengthened driveline components, among other upgrades. The setup ultimately previewed a full range of Ford Performance parts for the S650-generation Mustang 5.0, pushing output to an impressive 810 horsepower. Now, seemingly out of nowhere, Ford’s dealer-approved parts hub—the Ford Custom Garage—has revealed another iteration of the pony car: the Mustang FP800S Bronze MagneRide concept.
A Mustang With a Magnetic Personality
The FP800S Bronze MagneRide concept builds on the foundations of its 2023 predecessor, retaining key upgrades like the Whipple supercharger, an air/oil separator, and a Ford Performance “Extreme” cat-back exhaust. It also carries over the beefier half-shafts designed to handle the added power. While Ford Custom Garage doesn’t list every component, it’s safe to assume the package once again includes an oversized heat exchanger and intercooler, high-flow air filters, and a larger throttle body. Visual enhancements come by way of a front splitter, Dark Horse trunk spoiler, wheel spats, and Ford Performance badging at both ends.
As the name hints, this latest concept sports a fresh look compared to the earlier blue-and-white theme. Its gray exterior pairs with bronze 19-inch wheels, matching lug nuts, bronze side graphics, and a modular grille featuring bronze accents. The FP800S Bronze MagneRide also features suspension tweaks specific to its magnetorheological setup, including a 1.0-inch lowering kit tuned to work with the adaptive dampers.
So Is Ford Going to Build This Thing?
The “FP” in the concept’s name stands for Ford Performance—an interesting choice given the division’s upcoming rebrand to Ford Racing. Still, many of the components featured on this Mustang concept already exist in Ford’s official aftermarket catalog, complete with dealer installation and a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty. That alone suggests the FP800S Bronze MagneRide concept could reach customers in one form or another.
We’ve reached out to Ford to see whether this parts package has a future beyond its beefy axle shafts, and we’ll update the story if the company weighs in. Here’s hoping they do—after all, the idea of an 810-hp Mustang with supercar-tier performance and a smooth MagneRide ride on bronze wheels is hard not to love.
