2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport – Overview

Positioned as a more agile and compact alternative to the flagship Range Rover, the 2025 Range Rover Sport sits at the core of the Land Rover lineup, blending luxury, dynamic performance, and off-road capability. It offers three distinct powertrain options to cater to a variety of driving needs and lifestyles.

The base P360 model features a 355-horsepower turbocharged inline-six engine, while the P400 ups the ante with 395 horsepower from the same engine configuration. For those seeking electrification, there’s the P550e plug-in hybrid (reviewed separately), delivering a robust 542 horsepower and an estimated 51 miles of all-electric range.

Adaptive air suspension is standard across the lineup, enhancing both comfort and capability. It can raise the ride height for rugged terrain or lower it for better aerodynamics and sharper handling on pavement. For an even sportier feel, the available Stormer Handling package adds advanced features like rear-wheel steering and a torque-vectoring rear differential, turning the Range Rover Sport into a surprisingly nimble SUV.

Performance enthusiasts will want to check out the Range Rover Sport SV (also reviewed separately), which brings supercar-level speed with a 626-horsepower twin-turbo V8 under the hood.

No matter the trim, the 2025 Range Rover Sport boasts a refined, luxurious cabin loaded with premium features, a smooth and composed ride, and the unmistakable Range Rover design language. However, exclusivity comes at a price—the Range Rover Sport commands a higher starting price than many of its respected rivals, including the BMW X5, Porsche Cayenne, and Mercedes-AMG GLE53.

What’s New for 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport ?

For the 2025 model year, the Range Rover Sport introduces a bold new Stealth appearance package, marking its eighth year in production. Exclusively available on the P400 Dynamic SE trim, this stylish package features Carpathian Grey metallic paint finished with a satin clear wrap, replacing the usual chrome details with gloss black exterior accents for a more aggressive look. It also includes blacked-out 23-inch wheels and black-painted brake calipers for a fully darkened aesthetic.

Inside, the Stealth package adds an advanced air purification system and offers a choice of Ebony or Light Cloud leather upholstery, enhancing both comfort and visual appeal.

Additionally, the V8-powered P530 model makes a return for 2025 and is now available in both the Dynamic SE and Autobiography trims, giving buyers more options for high-performance luxury.

Pricing and Which One to Buy

The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport starts at $81,325 and can climb to $125,025, depending on the chosen trim level and added options.

    Trim Starting MSRP (est.)
    P360 S
    $81,325
    P360 SE
    $85,325
    P400 Dynamic SE
    $92,425
    P530 Dynamic SE
    $111,325
    P530 Autobiography
    $125,025

Among the lineup, the P400 Dynamic SE stands out as the best pick. With its extra horsepower over the base model, it delivers noticeably stronger performance for both city driving and highway cruising. Plus, it’s packed with luxury amenities and tech features, all without crossing into six-figure territory—making it a compelling balance of power, refinement, and value in the premium SUV segment.

    Engine, Transmission, and Performance

The 2025 Range Rover Sport lineup offers a diverse mix of powertrains, starting with a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. In the P360 SE, this setup generates 355 horsepower, while the P400 SE Dynamic turns up the power to 395 horsepower using the same engine.

For those craving more muscle, the P530 models are equipped with a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8, producing an impressive 523 horsepower. This engine brings serious performance to the table, yet maintains the model’s signature composure and refinement. In our testing, it delivered a superbly smooth ride, even over the rough roads around our Michigan base.

A plug-in hybrid (P550e) variant is also available, though it’s covered in a separate review.

All versions come standard with an eight-speed automatic transmission, all-wheel drive, and adaptive air suspension, providing both confident road manners and off-road capability. For enhanced dynamics, the optional Stormer Handling package adds rear-wheel steering and a torque-vectoring rear differential, significantly improving agility. During our early drives, we found the Range Rover Sport impressively balanced—comfortable yet athletic—and appreciated how the rear-wheel steering made tight urban maneuvers surprisingly effortless.

      0–60 MPH Times

In performance testing, the P360 SE reached 60 mph in 5.7 seconds, though it felt slightly more lethargic during typical city driving. According to Land Rover, the P400 Dynamic SE shaves that time down to 5.2 seconds, offering a noticeable bump in responsiveness. At the top of the lineup, the V8-powered P530 delivers serious speed, with a factory-estimated 0–60 mph time of just 4.3 seconds, making it the quickest variant in the Range Rover Sport lineup.

      Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG

Land Rover estimates that both the P360 and P400 models of the 2025 Range Rover Sport will achieve 20 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. In our real-world testing on a 75-mph highway route, the P360 SE lived up to expectations, delivering exactly 25 mpg—a solid result for an SUV tipping the scales at 5,387 pounds.

Meanwhile, the more powerful P530 V8 variant is slightly thirstier, with EPA estimates of 19 mpg city and 23 mpg highway.

For additional fuel economy details and official ratings, be sure to check the EPA’s website.

      Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

The 2025 Range Rover Sport embraces a sleek, minimalist interior design that emphasizes simplicity and sophistication. Physical buttons are kept to a minimum, resulting in a clean, uncluttered cabin that feels thoroughly modern.

Buyers can personalize their interior with a selection of textile or premium leather upholstery, including stylish two-tone color schemes. Details like dark-tinted chrome trim elevate the cabin’s upscale ambiance.

Comfort is a key focus, with power-adjustable front seats coming standard. For those seeking next-level luxury, optional 22-way adjustable front seats offer massage and ventilation functions, enhancing long-distance comfort.

An available advanced air purification system adds to the premium experience, designed to help eliminate odors, bacteria, viruses, and allergens—creating a cleaner, healthier environment inside the vehicle.

        Infotainment and Connectivity

The 2025 Range Rover Sport features a tech-forward cabin highlighted by a pair of expansive digital displays. At the center of the dashboard sits a 13.1-inch curved touchscreen, handling all infotainment duties via Land Rover’s latest Pivi Pro interface. In front of the driver, a 13.7-inch digital instrument cluster provides crisp, customizable readouts for speed, navigation, and other essential data.

While Pivi Pro represents Land Rover’s most advanced infotainment system yet, it isn’t entirely without quirks—something we’ve experienced in other models like the Defender and Discovery. That said, the high-resolution graphics and seamless integration into the vehicle’s premium dashboard elevate the tech experience.

Standard features include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with built-in Amazon Alexa voice assistance. A wireless smartphone charging pad is smartly positioned on a shelf just below the central display, keeping devices charged and within easy reach.

Audiophiles can opt for an immersive 29-speaker Meridian sound system, which includes headrest-mounted speakers for front and rear passengers, transforming the cabin into a private concert hall.

          Safety and Driver-Assistance Features

The 2025 Range Rover Sport comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of standard driver-assistance technologies designed to enhance safety and ease of driving. Key features include:

          • Automated emergency braking to help avoid or mitigate collisions

          • Lane-departure warning paired with lane-keeping assist to keep the vehicle centered in its lane

          • Adaptive cruise control, which even includes an off-road mode for better control in rugged conditions

          • A 360-degree exterior camera system that provides a bird’s-eye view for safer maneuvering in tight spaces

For detailed crash-test ratings and safety performance, you can refer to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) websites.

          Warranty and Maintenance Coverage

The Range Rover Sport offers warranty protection that’s typical for the luxury SUV segment but falls short in one key area—complimentary scheduled maintenance is not included.

          • The limited warranty covers four years or 50,000 miles, providing coverage for most repairs and defects.

          • The powertrain warranty matches this with four years or 50,000 miles of coverage.

          • However, unlike some of its rivals—such as the BMW X5 and X7 or the Volvo XC90, which include three years or 36,000 miles of free scheduled maintenance—the Range Rover Sport leaves maintenance costs to the owner after purchase.
