2025 Buick Envision Sees Significant Price Jump

"Both the MSRP and destination charges saw significant increases—and it’s not just for the 2026 model year."

Mid-year price hikes aren’t unusual, but General Motors has delivered a particularly surprising example. Buick’s compact Envision crossover has seen a steep increase that could catch buyers off guard. With the mandatory destination fee included—which also rose significantly—the 2025 Buick Envision starting price is now $2,000 higher.

With Envision sales surging this year, it’s unclear whether the hefty price increase is tied to tariffs. The Envision is built in China, while other Buick models are manufactured in South Korea or Michigan. It’s also possible that Buick is simply taking advantage of the growing popularity of its lineup.

At the beginning of the 2025 model year, Buick’s Envision Preferred trim had a starting price of $36,500. The Sport Touring trim started at $39,000, while the top-of-the-line Avenir carried a $46,200 price tag. Destination fees added an additional $1,395 to each model.

Today, the base Preferred trim starts at $38,000, up $1,500 from before. The destination fee has also risen, increasing by $500 to $1,895. The Sport Touring now starts at $40,500, and the top-tier Avenir reaches $47,700—each reflecting the higher destination charge.

The price changes at Buick have occurred so rapidly that even the company’s own website hasn’t fully caught up. While the main information page still shows the old pricing, the Build & Price tool reflects the updated mid-year increases.

So, what’s behind the price jump? Tariffs are the most likely culprit. The Buick Envision is produced by SAIC-GM at a factory in Yantai, China, and current U.S. tariffs on Chinese vehicle imports stand at 30%—though that rate could change. According to Buick’s website, this adjustment doesn’t apply to the 2026 model year, meaning prices could rise further when the new model year arrives, as is often the case with yearly updates.

Other Buicks See Smaller Price Adjustments

Nearly all Buick models are enjoying strong sales this year. Overall, the brand is up 29.2%, with 116,055 units sold. The full-sized Enclave leads the gains, rising 45.7% for the year and 58.3% in the last quarter. The Envision has climbed 31.5% year-to-date and 53.1% in the most recent quarter, totaling 28,737 units in the first half of 2025. The recent price increase could impact these numbers, though dealers were offering substantial discounts before the hike.

We’ve contacted Buick for more details on the brand’s plans and the reasons behind the price increase. Notably, the Envision is the only one of Buick’s four models that hasn’t received an official 2026 update yet.

Buick’s other models saw only modest price increases for 2026. The Envista rose $800 to start at $24,600, the Encore GX increased by $55 to $26,495, and the Enclave climbed $1,100 to $46,200. Destination fees vary by model: the South Korea–built Encore GX is listed at $1,795, the Korea-built Envista at $1,395, and the U.S.-built Enclave at $1,895. Of the three, only the Enclave’s fee changed for 2026, rising $400. The trend of rising destination fees has become notable as automakers attempt to offset tariff costs without formally hiking sticker prices.
