Lotus Emira Gets Greener for 2026—And Pricier Too

“Lotus Adds Two New Trims and a Bold Green Hue to the 2026 Sports Car Lineup”

The mid-engined Lotus Emira is getting a substantial refresh for 2026, as the automaker capitalizes on the unusually short-lived 2025 model year. Originally announced back in 2024, the long-anticipated Turbo SE trim will finally arrive—accompanied by a similarly upgraded V6 SE variant.

In addition, a new base model simply dubbed “Turbo” will join the lineup as the new entry-level Emira, replacing the previous non-SE V6 trim from 2025. Despite its new “entry-level” title, the Emira Turbo commands a slightly higher price than its predecessor: $106,900 compared to $102,250. Still, the added features and refreshed styling might make the premium worthwhile for buyers seeking Lotus thrills with updated appeal.

Emira SE Finally Arrives in the U.S.

Initially announced for the 2025 model year, the Lotus Emira Turbo SE was set to launch in select markets only—leaving the U.S. lineup limited to V6 models. That changes for 2026. During its global debut in June, Lotus confirmed that the long-awaited Emira Turbo SE will finally reach American shores. It’s powered by a 400-horsepower version of the AMG-sourced turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four and features a number of distinctive upgrades, including dark-finish 20-inch forged alloy wheels and gloss black accents on the rocker panels and bumper trim.

Also new for 2026 is the Lotus Emira V6 SE, which fully replaces the standard V6 variant in the lineup. While its supercharged 3.5-liter V6 engine continues to produce 400 horsepower—matching the previous year’s output—the V6 SE benefits from key refinements. It adopts similar cosmetic tweaks as the Turbo SE, including dark trim and updated wheels, but adds mechanical enhancements like revised suspension tuning and wheel alignment for improved handling and ride comfort.

Notably, the V6 SE is now the only 2026 Lotus Emira available with a six-speed manual transmission. Lotus has also introduced a new compression mount within the gearbox, aimed at delivering more precise and satisfying gear changes. Pricing for the Emira V6 SE starts at $112,900.

Refinements Across the Entire Emira Lineup

At the foundation of the 2026 Lotus Emira range is the new base Emira Turbo, priced at $106,900. It features a 360-horsepower version of the AMG-sourced turbocharged four-cylinder engine. While the price represents a modest increase over the outgoing model, Lotus justifies the premium with a number of upgrades—starting with a revised eight-speed dual-clutch transmission designed to deliver quicker, more engaging shifts.

Under the skin, the Emira benefits from improved thermal efficiency. Lotus has reengineered the coolant system, optimizing the routing to enhance performance for both the engine radiator and the transmission oil cooler. The updated thermostat now opens at a higher temperature to maintain more consistent performance, and the entire system is lighter than before.

Additionally, Lotus has addressed interior comfort with a revamped air conditioning system, which promises more stable cabin temperatures across a wider range of extreme climates.

Visually, the 2026 Emira stays true to its striking, mini-supercar design, but Lotus is introducing a splash of excitement with two new paint options: Eos Green and Purple Haze Metallic. Buyers looking for an extra dose of flair can also opt for the new Racing Line package, available on both the Turbo SE and V6 SE trims.

While it doesn’t add any performance enhancements, the Racing Line package brings distinctive cosmetic upgrades. These include contrasting mirror caps, a ground-effect pinstripe, and color-matched brake calipers available in red, yellow, or silver. Inside, the theme continues with color-accented stitching and exclusive black-and-silver Lotus badging. Gloss black wheels and special Racing Line emblems round out the head-turning look.
