2026 Dodge Durango First Look: It’s Holding Its Ground
Since its debut in 2011, this generation of the Durango has remained largely unchanged, surviving through three different CEOs and even outlasting the original name of Dodge’s parent company.
What’s truly remarkable about the 2026 Dodge Durango isn’t just its impressive longevity on the market—it’s also that it has managed to stay fun to drive and reasonably competitive when it comes to family hauling. That said, it’s definitely due for an update, as its safety and convenience tech now lag behind the segment’s leaders. While the engine lineup has seen some tweaks and the interior and exterior have received minor refreshes, this three-row family SUV has outlasted the entire existence of Stellantis and has been through four CEOs, including those from Fiat Chrysler leadership. It really makes you wonder how much longer the Durango will keep going strong.
We know the Durango will remain available at least through the 2026 model year, continuing to hold the distinction of being the last Dodge model offered with a V-8 engine. The base GT trim will keep its 3.6-liter V-6 Pentastar engine, the Durango R/T will carry on with the 360-hp, 390-lb-ft 5.7-liter Hemi V-8, and the SRT Hellcat will once again pack a punch with its supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V-8 producing 710 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque.
In classic Dodge style, the Durango gets a dose of freshness through new appearance packages and cosmetic upgrades. For 2026, the R/T trim gains a new Blacktop Redline package, which adds blacked-out 20-inch wheels, black badging, black SRT exhaust tips, and aggressive SRT front and rear spoilers. For those opting for the $5,990 Tow N Go package, the upgrades continue with wider 20-inch wheels—available in a forged option—and a set of striking black Brembo brake calipers.
Inside, the Blacktop Redline R/T receives a sporty upgrade with SRT front seats and standard second-row captain’s chairs upholstered in a mix of leather and microsuede, accented by bold red stitching. Leather trim extends to the doors and center console, while unique laser-etched interior accents feature a geometric “crypto sweep” pattern for a modern touch. This appearance package adds $3,495 to the cost of the R/T Plus and R/T Premium trims.
For those seeking a more budget-friendly option, the standard R/T trim can be equipped with a simpler Blacktop package. Priced at $1,695, it includes black wheels, black badging, and black roof rails, all while maintaining a seven-seat configuration.
If style matters more than speed, the 295-hp V-6-powered Durango GT also offers a Blacktop Redline package. This version includes bold red stripes on the front fenders and liftgate, a performance hood, SRT front and rear spoilers, and SRT-inspired leather and suede performance front seats, giving the GT a more aggressive and upscale appearance without the added horsepower.
