2025 Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition First Look: at the Dark Knight EV

“Timed to coincide with International Batman Day, the 2025 Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition offers fans a unique way to honor the Dark Knight.”

Batman may not be the most relatable hero—after all, he’s a billionaire by day and a crime-fighter by night. But unlike other superheroes, he relies on cutting-edge technology, clever tactics, and, more recently, raw strength instead of superhuman powers. In other words: hit the gym, invest in some high-tech gadgets, and maybe you could pull off his feats yourself. Beyond crime-fighting, Batman is a merchandising powerhouse—thanks to Warner Bros. Discovery, the owner of the IP—and his latest inspiration? An Indian electric vehicle.

Manufacturer Mahindra has tapped into Batman’s iconic brand aura with its BE 6 electric SUV, introducing the 2025 Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition. Perhaps Mahindra spotted a connection between the Dark Knight’s tech-savvy persona and the futuristic world of EVs—or maybe it simply recognized the marketing potential of a Batman-themed vehicle launching independently of any new Batman movie.

India boasts a large and enthusiastic Batman fanbase—not surprising in a country with nearly 1.5 billion people. That’s slightly more than China, and both nations each have roughly a billion more residents than the United States. With such numbers, it’s easy to see why a vehicle like the 2025 Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition could attract attention, especially given Mahindra’s plan to produce just 300 units.

Although Mahindra is better known for tractors, other agricultural equipment, and the Roxor side-by-side in the U.S., it maintains a global footprint as an automotive manufacturer based in India. The company began by producing knockdown kit Jeeps under a licensing agreement but has since expanded into its own line of modern SUVs. Mahindra also competes in Formula E, with its two drivers finishing in the Top 10 in the 2024/2025 season. Then there’s the BE 6, the company’s second of three all-electric vehicles launched since 2023. Introduced in 2024, the BE 6 enters its second full year of production—now debuting the 2025 Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition.

Don’t expect a Batmobile-style Tumbler—the BE 6 is primarily a standard EV SUV dressed up in Batman-themed styling. The Batman Edition is essentially a badge and design makeover of the regular BE 6 Pack Three trim, drawing inspiration from Christopher Nolan’s Batman films. It comes standard with a 79-kWh battery and a single rear-wheel-drive motor producing 282 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. That said, the BE 6’s angular design and detailing naturally complement the Dark Knight’s aesthetic, especially with the special touches added for the Batman Edition.

The 2025 Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition’s badging draws directly from the Nolan Dark Knight trilogy. These emblems appear on the front quarter panels, rear bumper, center caps, windows, rear windshield, and interior. Most exterior badges feature an Alchemy Gold finish, while the center caps are silver to complement the BE 6’s exclusive 20-inch wheels—up from the standard Pack Three’s 19-inch set. A special ‘BE 6 x The Dark Knight’ badge in gold adorns the rear, completing the themed look.

Alchemy Gold accents also extend to the brake calipers and suspension springs. The 2025 Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition features a unique satin black body color, complemented by a Batman image decal on the front doors. Additionally, ‘Carpet Lamps’ project the Dark Knight bat logo onto the ground, evoking the iconic Bat-Signal that summons the hero from his billionaire lair into action.

Inside, the 2025 Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition continues the Dark Knight theme. The Infinity Roof—Mahindra’s all-glass roof—features the Bat emblem, while leather and suede surfaces in charcoal are highlighted with gold sepia contrast stitching. The Dark Knight emblem is embossed on the seats, Boost button, and other interior labels. Alchemy Gold appears on the numbered plaque, while brushed gold accents the driver cockpit halo. The passenger-side dashboard sports a pinstripe graphic with the Bat emblem, and additional gold touches appear on the steering wheel, In-Touch controller, parking brake button, and custom key fob. Even the infotainment system showcases Batman-inspired branding on its welcome animation, and the exterior sound mimics a note reminiscent of the Batmobile.

Overall, the 2025 Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition succeeds as a special, limited tribute to the Dark Knight. But there are two caveats. First, Mahindra doesn’t sell the vehicle in the U.S., where—if tariffs and exchange rates weren’t a factor—it would cost roughly the same $31,827 equivalent as in India. For Indian buyers, order books open on August 20, with deliveries beginning September 20, perfectly timed for International Batman Day. The second caveat? As exciting as the Batman Edition is, some enthusiasts might feel a little spoiled having access to the Dark Knight Tumbler here, despite its roughly $3 million price tag.
