2024 McLaren 750S – Overview

It was hard not to feel disappointed when McLaren wrapped up production of the 710-hp 720S at the end of 2022. Fortunately, the excitement returns—this time in the form of the 2024 McLaren 750S, a lighter, restyled supercar packing 740 hp. Available as both a coupe and spider, it retains the familiar twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 and seven-speed dual-clutch transmission behind the seats.

McLaren essentially put the 720S through a mechanical weight-loss program, resulting in an even faster machine. Upgrades include a lighter center-exit exhaust, low-mass wheels, and pistons borrowed from the 755-hp 765LT for sharper throttle response. While the mid-engine 750S may not be a revolutionary new McLaren, it feels like a supercar already in peak form—ready to hit the road after a winter of intense conditioning.

When Is the 2024 McLaren 750S Coming Out?

McLaren has confirmed that the 2024 750S is available now, with deliveries starting in late 2023 for select markets. Production is limited to maintain exclusivity, so early orders are recommended for enthusiasts looking to secure one.

    What’s New for 2024 McLaren 750S?

The 2024 McLaren 750S may look a lot like the discontinued 720S—and that’s no coincidence. It retains a similar powertrain, now tuned for even more power, while extensive weight-reduction efforts make this agile two-seater feel sharper and more exhilarating than ever. McLaren’s engineering upgrades transform an already impressive supercar into an even more thrilling ride.

Pricing and Which One to Buy

The 2024 McLaren 750S starts at $324,195, climbing to $329,500 depending on trim and options.

    750S Spider
    $324,195
    SEL Sport
    $30,245

Choosing a 750S is almost foolproof—you really can’t go wrong. For buyers who invest in every carbon-fiber and lightweight option, the coupe ends up a manufacturer-claimed 108 pounds lighter than the Spider. But let’s be honest: in a car this striking, being seen behind the wheel is worth more than any pound saved.

    Engine, Transmission, and Performance

Behind the cabin, the 2024 McLaren 750S houses a 740-hp twin-turbo V-8, delivering 590 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels. A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission handles shifts with lightning-fast precision. After driving the 750S coupe—both on the Circuito do Estoril in Portugal and along a twisty California canyon—we were thoroughly impressed. On our test track, it sprinted to 60 mph in just 2.3 seconds, making it the quickest rear-wheel-drive car we’ve ever tested and slightly faster than the outgoing 720S.

Performance enhancements go beyond raw power. The 750S rides on McLaren’s lightest-ever standard wheels and features aggressive aero components for increased downforce. Its updated hydraulic suspension, with lightweight springs and dampers, provides sharp, responsive feedback for carving canyon roads. Borrowing cues from the million-dollar Senna, the 750S can be equipped with a ceramic rotor and monoblock caliper track brake package for ultimate stopping power.

Practicality isn’t ignored—speed bumps and low driveways are no problem thanks to a nose-lift button. Standard Pirelli P Zero summer tires come with optional P Zero Corsa or track-focused P Zero Trofeo R tires. The fitment is staggered, with 19-inch wheels up front and 20-inch wheels at the rear, perfectly complementing the car’s performance-focused stance.

      Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG

The EPA rates the 2024 McLaren 750S at 15 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway. We plan to test the car on our 75-mph highway route and will update this story with real-world fuel economy figures once available. For the latest official ratings, visit the EPA’s website.

      Interior, Comfort, and Cargo

The interior of the 2024 McLaren 750S is refreshingly simple amid the complexity of its design. Alcantara comes standard, while a Performance interior option adds Napa leather, and the TechLux package emphasizes leather throughout the cockpit. McLaren keeps most of the cabin in dark tones but lets buyers customize stitching colors for an extra touch of personalization.

The steering wheel is clean and button-free, with driving mode selection and other controls moved to the driver-focused central dashboard. Cargo space varies between models: the Spider sacrifices some rear storage to accommodate its power-folding roof, while both versions feature a front trunk that’s just under half the size of a Corvette’s.

        Infotainment and Connectivity

The 2024 McLaren 750S features a 7.0-inch vertical infotainment screen that manages most functions, including climate control, Apple CarPlay, and ambient lighting settings—Android Auto is not available. A 360-degree rearview camera comes standard, offering higher resolution than the 720S for improved clarity. For audio, a Bowers & Wilkins system with an amplifier and McLaren’s Continuum cone speakers delivers premium sound—though you may rarely need it over the P1-inspired exhaust roar.
